Have you ever tried to find something on the Internet but every keywords are linking to an other event? Like looking for the 2001 Worldcon or the results of a ski competition in 1999. I’m sure these events are documented on the web but they are harder to find as new events are “masking” the results. Internet is suffering from a kind of strange memory problem. Its our biggest shared repository of facts on human life and its a looser on how to recall something. Search engines are part of the solution but they are not so great. The best solution is, as its always been, find somebody who know and follow its lead to an other person. In time you will find what you are looking for.
Which bring me to the project, the project is an attempt to create a starting point for anything science-fiction. It will explore subjects related to science, fandom and anything remotely related to science-fiction. The objective is to guide the readers on the diverse subjects of science-fiction and to help them to explore them on their own.
But such a project cannot be completed without some help. I’ll try to get some people interested and if I am lucky you will read from them in the coming months. Also, if you wish to participate by writing an article about something you know, do not hesitate to send it to my email (check in the about page). I will review your article and post it on World of SF under a Creative Common license. You will be identified as the writer of the article. I wish to respect your rights as the creator of the work.
For the curious reader, you can find the results of many major ski competitions on SpeedSki-info.
